The research has as objective general to analyze the perception of doctors and nurses on its preparation for the copping of situations death and to die of patients. The study he is descriptive of qualitative approach, fulfilled in a public hospital of the Aracaju-SE city, with collected data of August of 2006 to the May of 2007, being the composed sample of 85 doctors and nurses. For the collection a constructed questionnaire was used on the basis of interviews carried through in the first phase of the research. After the content analysis had been established empirical categories. The professionals had presented diverse concepts concerning the death and of dying, many times considering the two phenomena as only. In majority, 70.58%, of the searched citizens had been considered partially prepared for the copping of the death of patients. Some feelings had been express for the searched ones ahead of the imminence of death of a patient. Aspects as age, been of health and sex of the patient had been considered factors that influence in the confrontation. Of the respondents, 64.70% had told that previous personal experiences can influence dealing with the death. How much to the preparation, 82.35% had affirmed not to have received no preparation to deal with the death during the graduation, being that 90.58% believe future improvements of the education of the professionals for the subject, believing that a bigger quarrel of the subject could help them in this process. Ahead of the presented results one concludes that the health professionals feel themselves overwhelming to speech on the death of its patients, they have difficulty to accept it and they believe that the subject Death and To die must more be debated during its formation. |
