Resumo: | Contemporary literature is still underexplored in the school context, especially local literature. Therefore, this work aims to study the satirical poetry of authors from Rio Grande do Norte, namely Antônio Francisco, Manoel Cavalcante, and Donizete Souza, in the classroom. To achieve this, we employed the reading circle method, as well as intersemiotic translation, so that students could understand literary texts from a different perspective, thus fostering subjective reading and enlivening literature education. To support our study, we draw on the ideas of Câmara Cascudo (2006), who addresses oral literature; Araújo (2004, 1995), Monteiro (2011, 2015), Gurgel (2001, 2003), who discuss literature from Rio Grande do Norte; Propp (1992), Bakhtin (1997, 1999, 2010), who reinforce the notion of satire; Jouve (2013), Rouxel (2013), Langlade (2013) regarding subjective reading; Plaza (2003) with the study of intersemiotic translation; and finally, to address the school environment, we refer to Pinheiro (2008, 2018) and Cosson (2021). Methodologically, the work is an action research with qualitative and quantitative procedures, conducted through a literary workshop targeting a class of 1st-year high Escola Estadual Newman Queiroz State School, located in the municipality of Jucurutu/RN. The outcome of the work was the production of satirical paintings, aimed not only at fostering students' engagement with literature from Rio Grande do Norte but also at exploring subjective reading, allowing students to comprehend literary texts beyond words. |
