Resumo: | A review of consolidation theory of soils specially radial drainage consolidation, pointing out original works by Brazilian Engineers. With the automatic programming in FORTRAN language to calculate degree of radial consolidation against Time Factor for any diameter ratio (circle of influence/drain well). The adopted precision is analized regarding the calculation and the number of roots. Block diagrams and listing are presented. The appendix contains examples of application of developed program for different diameter ratios n. Also shown how to extend the program in order to determine pore-water pressure (and degree of consolidation) for any point and time. Describs the experimental study per-formed at the Soil Mechanics Laboratory of COPPE-UFRJ by the Author. It was intended only to illustrate the application of the computer program to tests of radial consolidation (cen-tripetal drainage towards a vertical drain of sand and mica). This test aims at the determination of the coefficient of horizontal permeability of clayey soils, which is important for designing sand vertical drains to accelerate consolidation of such soils. |
