Resumo: | The pipe-soil interaction has a number of uncertainties which stimulate studies and realistic results aiming for economy, safety and good performance of the pipelines. This study addresses cyclic pipe-soil interaction in the axial and lateral directions, through centrifuge modeling. In order to give more realism to the interaction phenomenon, a controlled loading system was specially designed to simulate different pipe weights during the cyclic movement. The seabed was simplified by an artificial clayey soil made of kaolin, which showed good agreement with values obtained in situ. The pipeline models were designed to reproduce prototypes of 0.5 m in diameter, and the force and displacement registers were performed by means of adequate instrumentation. A total of 12 axial interaction tests and 4 lateral interaction tests were performed. The results presented in this work intend to contribute to advance the understanding of the pipe-soil interaction phenomenon. |
