Resumo: | Safety culture has increasingly been a topic of discussion since the Chernobyl incident in 1986. Studies carried out in this context have developed several definitions, approaches, and assessment methods. However, culture takes a few years to develop and, consequently, for its transformations to be identified. Few studies have discussed the transformations to safety practices that may have been generated by these assessments. Thus, this research examines a method used to assess safety culture on two offshore platforms. This study was conducted using document analysis and interviews with the researchers who applied the assessment as well as with key members of the organization who participated in the safety culture assessment process. The main results show that this method of assessment integrated work debate spaces with its participatory approach, through which real work scenarios on the platforms were discussed and actions were indicated to transform safety culture. |
