The autistic disorder is a subtype of pervasive developmental disorder that presents impairments in social interaction, communication and behavior, interests and activities, and even today is considered a mystery before the diversity of human development. There are few studies investigating how they live and how they relate to this population, especially in adolescence. Thus, understanding the factors that may intervene in their lifestyle becomes an important issue for providing information for professionals who work directly with these people. Purpose: Describe the lifestyle of adolescents with autistic disorder in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Materials and Methods: The Epidemiological study has a descriptive. The sample consisted of adolescents with Autistic Disorder from 10 to 19 years. Data were collected through self-reported questionnaires answered by parents or guardians with questions relating to family data, educational, features of the disorder and lifestyle of the participants. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, calculating measures of frequency, central tendency, dispersion and graphical representation of data. Conclusion: It is concluded that the low level of literacy, emotional and physical health and level of independence of activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living negatively affect aspects of the EV. The lack of trained professionals, the parental overprotection, inadequate environments and lack of enjoyment of physical activity are crucial barriers to adherence to physical activity and consequently for the acquisition of Lifestyle active. Thus, it is clear that a set of actions are important for adolescents with Autistic Disorder acquire a Lifestyle satisfactory as early diagnosis, monitoring of families, public policy, education, health and leisure and preparation of the schools |
