Resumo: |
It refers to a study that aimed to discuss how nurses understand the work process elements in a teaching hospital in Pelotas/RS. For this, it was performed a qualitative research that used the theoretical reference of the working process according to the Marxist view. 14 nurses of open hospitalization, distributed among medical, surgical, pediatric and gynecologic-obstetric clinic, have participated on that investigation. The data used on it are part of a research project named Participative evaluation of the work process of the nurse staff of the school hospital of Pelotas/RS . The information was collected through a semi-structured interview between January and February of 2012 with the nurses in those units, being the data submitted to a thematic analysis according to the Minayo operational steps. The results have shown that, in the nurses work, the process elements (work object, aiming and instruments) are in a continuing articulation, insomuch that each element is connected to the other on the development of the professional practice. The workers demonstrate a wide perspective of the work object, understanding the hospitalized human being and his/ her family as an intervention object in the hospital environment. In the same way, it s also possible to reinforce this perspective, once there is an incipient comprehension from the nurse about this work object, since they see the human being who belongs to a family inserted into a territory, involved in socio-historical conditions. The care as the aiming of the nurse work was confirmed what makes sense and justifies those worker s action. However, it s possible to notice a contradiction on their speeches once they see the individual inserted in a social context. They conduct the work process in order to cure, showing a care focused on the disease, making stronger the hegemonic health model. The manager-administrative activities were announced as prevalent on the nurse s work, highlighting management instruments majority use. This research proposes to observe the nurse s work in a unique dimension, which is the care, whose worker is responsible for multiple activities e uses different instruments to make possible the aiming of this work. The work tools used by the nurses can be traduced in knowledge applied to act in the professional activity, being the management instruments use a possible characteristic of the nurses work. The work potentials highlighted by the nurses were human and material resources availability, the nursing staff professional qualification and the nursing students presence. In relation to the weaknesses, it was spot a lack of nursing prescription use, material resources inadequacy; restrict physical space, rules absence on the teaching hospital, public service condition versus workers functional position. In this way, the nurse s work process is continually permeated by advance and success possibilities, as well as, it covers contradictions, setbacks and difficulties. So, potentials and fragilities identification can be a way to a continuous evaluation of the nurses production process and can be useful for health and teaching institutions managers in a search for adequacies and transformation that can be modified and denounced by the workers themselves. |
