Resumo: |
This inquiry investigates the space pilgrimages with a maximum oh 24 hours at most put into effect through short journeys to Saint Severino Sanctuary at the municipality of Paudalho, State of Pernambuco. This site is part of a sacred geographical network that interconnects several devotional centers occurring in this State. The leading stemmed from the fact that not infrequently these visitations belong to a schedule whose itinerary includes other devotional centers, like Mãe Rainha (Queen Mary) in Olinda, Frei Damião in Recife and Santo Cristo in Ipojuca. The statement of the problem is rooted in the assumption that all tease sites add up to Saint Severino Sanctuary and still other routes to form a larger network of the State’s cultural tourism. In this way, this approach is focused on the dimensional analysis of the geographical networks in accordance with the proposal of various scholars in the field of Cultural Geography. In particular, these networks are considered as a set of interconnected neighborhoods articulated by both material and cultural bands. The geographical networks are investigated by means of the special and time as well as organizational dimensions, together with the speed of the flows and the frequency with which the web is established the adapted methodology emphasized field word on the site, with the application of questionnaires with both the visitors and those responsible for the transportation to the Sanctuary on every first Sunday of January to April of 2007. The results yielded by this investigation shoes that the Sanctuary of Saint Severino may be seen as a much more encompassing social and economic phenomenon, representing a nodal center of network with an interaction pattern of multiple circuits. From the point of view of the spatial dimension, this is a predominantly regional and informal network, compounding with other pilgrimages centers a important event for the tourism of the State of Pernambuco. |
