Resumo: | This study seeks to analyze the potential dialogues between the Buddhist doctrine and Augusto dos Anjos’ poetry published in the book “EU”. For this, the work is divided into three chapters. In the first, the approach is about Augusto dos Anjos, his life, his work, his time, his religion. The second chapter discusses aspects of Buddhism, showing its origins, its arrival in Brazil and "EU" in Buddhist philosophy; also talks about the influence of the German philosopher, Arthur Schopenhauer, in the poetic production of Augusto dos Anjos and shows how this theme has been the focus of studies within and outside the Academy. The third chapter analyzes the poems published in the book “EU” by the light of Buddhism, showing which elements of the Buddhist philosophy influenced the poet for not only to mention some expressions of Eastern religion in his poems, but also to adopt in his poetic a philosophy that, just like Buddhism, recognizes that everything is suffering. |
