This work proposes to understand the editorial practices of digital journalism based on an analysis of Instagram content from Jornal da Paraíba. In order for this process to be understood, the study addresses the recurrence of themes found in publications, considering their relationship with the editorial lines exposed in the contents themselves. Its foundation is built on a path that includes media cultures and their applications to digital journalism. Furthermore, the study is based on discursive semiotic theory as a foundation and methodological procedures. Its analysis is structured in three stages, the first being the selection and organization of content captions, image texts and algorithmic data. The second stage involves the categorization of these data based on thematic isotopes, which are defined based on the figures and themes of the content. The third stage measures engagement levels based on the isotopes found previously, in addition to the exposure of content at a comparative level between thematic isotopes and the newspaper's content editorials. It can be seen that the definition of thematic isotopes contributes to a strategic organization of content, verifying its alignment with the editorials already exposed by the newspaper in its media. Furthermore, the engagement data demonstrates that there are considerable variables depending on the topic covered, seasonality and frequency of content available on Jornal da Paraíba's Instagram. It is also possible to find more than one thematic isotopy per content, which denotes the existence of an interconnection between content editorials.
