Resumo: This work is a semiotic study of the meanings around the deaf and the values expressed, culturally, through the texts that make up the literary collection of the deaf people, like the comic books by Matt and Kay Daigle (2014) that make up the corpus of this search. The work “That Deaf Guy: A wild ride!” it is an extremely valuable cultural product and object of investigation that leads us to discover historical, social, and cultural aspects of deaf individuals. For that, we take as a theoretical support the French line semiotics, considering the methodology of the Greimas signification path considering the three structures: narrative, discursive and fundamental, which was completed with studies on the cultural meanings present in the text. This is an analytical, interpretative, and comparative study. The results found highlight the thematization, cultural values, paths and meanings generated in comics by deaf authors. Such analysis allows the visualization of elements that influence the construction of meaning in comic books and in the semiotic atmosphere of deaf culture.
