Resumo: This research aims at analyzing student assistance actions within the Vidal de Negreiros Agricultural College (CAVN), that makes part of The Human, Social and Agrarian Sciences Center (CCHSA) of the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), regarding the school evasion of its students. This work, while investigating the demands of these high school students (set on classroom technical education), describes the perspectives of the school directors and those of the students themselves on the effectiveness and consolidation of an internal program for student assistance, having as conceptual reference the horizon of rights that the PNAES grants to higher education. This research is primarily based on qualitative premises, but it also uses of quantitative subsidies, typified as exploratory and documentary, with the use of the case study, since it deals with the reality of a singular institution. The data were collected with the help of a semi-structured interview with the school directors of Vidal de Negreiros Agricultural College, and a questionnaire applied for students attending the student assistance actions, enrolled in technical courses integrated to High School. Relating the school directors? answers as well as those of the students', to the semi-structured interviews, by means of the application of questionnaires, together with the collected documents, tables and interpretative correlations about the collected data were elaborated. As for the student assistance actions carried out in CAVN, it may be said that they cope with students? evasion, throughout a bundle of student assistance services, although not enough yet to solve the evasion problem then presented.
