In this work, we study singularities of matrices families. More speci cally, it presents a simple germ classi cation of matrix singularities associated with determinant varieties. The classi cation is guided by the Gequivalence that consists of changes of orientation in the source and multiplication to the right and to the left by matrix germs that have maximum rank in the origin. Discusses some concepts related to the theory of singularities of matrices n p that generalize results obtained by J.W. Bruce and F. Tari in [10] for square matrices. We conclude by presenting some results concentrated on determinant manifolds of encoding 2, with singularity isolated at the origin.
