Resumo: | Police programs are part of the programming of 110 TV stations throughout Brazil. Its formula became popular, being multiplied nationally and regionally. Despite violating human rights and the legislation that regulates the media in the country, these products reach considerable audience rates and occupy long hours on the air. The narrative about crime and violence is the main content disseminated by this media product. Violence against women began to be part of the coverage of police officers, who in search of an audience and profit, are not careful with ethics and social responsibility, values intrinsic to journalism, and may thus misinform the viewer. Observing the importance of better understanding the phenomenon of disinformation in the traditional media, especially in programs classified as police, and realizing the growing coverage that cases of violence against women have aroused in the media, this research intends to identify in the program affiliated “Alerta Nacional”, aired by Amazonian TV A Crítica, and rebroadcast nationally by RedeTV!, how related contents are represented gender violence and identify whether these programs misinform women's human rights. As a theoretical framework, we believe that the Political Economy of Communication (EPC) can help us to analyze our research object, in a more appropriate way, providing us with fundamental elements to understand the formation of mass media in Brazil, taking into account their political and economic aspects, as well as the existence of these programs on Brazilian television, and from the analysis of theorists such as Serrano (2010), Aires e Santos (2017), Martins (2020), D'Ancona (2018), Amaral (2005) to understand how the phenomenon of misinformation manifests itself in the traditional media, specifically, in the TV. We adopted the methodology of content analysis, comparative case study and literature review. Our research is descriptive and bibliographical, with a qualitative approach. |
