It is perceived that school is a mean in the promotion of access to artistic exhibitions as well as in the democratization of culture. Thus, this work aims to investigate the possible barriers that make access to artistic exhibition spaces on behalf of public schools. In this context, concepts such as cultural mediation and accessibility were discussed. The research dealt with five public schools in the town of Cabedelo in Paraiba-Brazil as well as two exhibition spaces in Joao Pessoa, Paraiba-Brazil. These spaces currently develop programs that deal with educational actions. Results identify as causes for the barriers cited such as lack of regular transportation, lack of educational program planning that enable greater approximation amongst both spaces, all of which are determinant and make access to exhibition spaces difficult on behalf of students in these
