Resumo: With journalism steeped in adaptations and changes, due to the crisis in traditional business models and the downsizing of newsrooms, a proliferation of new economic arrangements in this area is in progress. Formal jobs have increasingly given way to entrepreneurship. Journalists have been looking for autonomy and financial independence, which is why they found their own businesses, especially in the digital world. During the 20th century, to be a journalist or to be recognized as such, you had to be employed in a newsroom. Today we see the process of deterritorialization of the newsroom, and also the departure from these environments in search of autonomous places. We believe that despite such changes, the media imagination, based on its technologies, does not conceive images of the journalist as an entrepreneurial, autonomous, independent, creative professional, owner of his own business. This research aims to understand which images the journalist entrepreneur associates with their professional practice. Based on the notions of Social Imaginary, in Maffesoli (1988) (2001) (2003) (2010) (2018), the Technologies of the Imaginary, in Juremir Silva (2007) (2009) (2012), Journalism, in Traquina (2004) (2005), and entrepreneurship, in José Dornelas (2001) (2008) and Alain Ehrenberg (2010). The investigation uses field research, with semi-structured interviews with 5 journalist entrepreneurs working in the state of Paraíba.
