Resumo: Studies with the theme of informational practices are growing and gaining relevance within the field of Information Science in Brazil. In view of this, this research has the general objective of describing how studies of informational practices were carried out in the field of Information Science in Brazil, in master's and doctoral research defended in Graduate Programs in Information Science until the year 2022. Regarding the methodological approach, this research is characterized by a descriptive and documentary type, with a mixed approach. Data collection was carried out in the database: Catalog of Thesis and Dissertations (CAPES). This database was selected because it integrates the theses and dissertations information systems existing in education and research institutions in Brazil. The search in the database was carried out from September to December 2022, using the keyword “informational practices”, without applying filters or refinement strategies for the selection of works. The selected studies were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively in relation to the topic of informational practices. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. For qualitative data, the categorization technique was used according to the content analysis method. The results showed that 39 papers were selected (29 dissertations and 10 theses), the majority (n= 17; 43.6%) of the dissertations and theses on informational practices were developed in the graduate program of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), with Carlos Alberto Ávila Araújo from the institution as the main researcher on the thematic in question. The main researchers in which the works appropriated and used the concepts were: Savolainen (2005), Marteleto (2001; 2002), Araújo (1998), Araújo (2017), McKenzie (2003). Additionally, it was possible to observe that informational practices is the central conceptual category of research developed with application in several areas of knowledge, it was observed that the predominant keywords were “user study”, “information science”, “informational resilience” and “scientific communication”. We found that Information Science, through postgraduate studies, has invested in research related to informational practices, thus, it is evident that the area has been concerned with its social aspect, insofar as it discusses contemporary informational phenomena in front of society.
