Resumo: This research discusses about the activities of the mediation of information in the file’s scope. The file is recognized as an informational device that holds the custody of documental funds allowing the access to queries and researches and helping the construction of new knowledge. Based on this affirmative, the present research tried to analyze how the activities of the mediation of information realized by the professionals linked to the Archive of Fundação Casa de José Américo favor the access and appropriation of information by the informational individuals, taking into consideration the social and cultural dynamics of these individuals. To reach this objective, some specific goals were defined: identify activities of the mediation of information developed in the scope of the Archive of Fundação Casa de José Américo and classify them according the concept of informational mediation defended by Almeida Júnior (2015); verify, according the perception of professionals of information, if these activities of the mediation of information consider the sociocultural dynamic and context of the informational individuals that use the file; and identify the level of interference between the informational practices of the individuals and the activities of the mediation of information. Therefore, this research is characterized as correlational and has as a method the case study, in other words, an in-depth study. For the data collect it was applied a quiz to the professionals of information that act in the Archive of Fundação Casa de José Américo and another quiz to the informational individuals that use, recurrently, the products and services of the referred file. It was realized too, the direct observation of the dynamic used by these informational professionals, therefore, it were registered informations about such actions in the quiz. As a result, it was observed that the activities of the mediation of information done by the mediating agents in the scope of the Archive of Fundação Casa de José Américo has contributed in such a significant way in the informational individuals lifes that reach the referred Archive to satisfy their informational demands. Such activities of the mediation of information, in the scope of the Arquivo of FCJA, happen in a direct and an indirect way, according the classification of Almeida Júnior (2015). It was also observed that the informational individuals recognized the importance of the Archive in the develop of their sociocultural practices, assigning to this environment the trust to participate in the performed activities and sharing with the individuals and mediating agents their knowledge, such as their concern, which provides the develop of the activities aimed to their demands, aspects that show that these individuals are appropriating of the information. It was also possible to report that a significant part of the agents of the mediation recognize cultural traits of the informational individuals present in the Archive and in the devices safeguarded in this area of information as well. So, it was concluded that it is relevant that the agents of mediation of the Archive of FCJA consider the sociocultural dynamic and aspects of the individuals in their activities of mediation of information, be them direct or indirect, individual or collective, in a way that contemplates the needs of the differents informational individuals, considering their singularities and the context in which they are inserted.
