Resumo: The research, entitled Biodanza on patients living with HIV/AIDS: interventions and effects aim to assess the impacts of Biodanza's intervention on patients living with HIV/AIDS. Despite the effectiveness of current antiretroviral therapies in suppressing disease progression, many HIV positive people report using complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) to control HIV symptoms and the side effects of specific medications. There is a need to conduct research that identifies factors associated with the use of complementary alternative medicine and the implications of its use for the care of HIV/AIDS patients, in order to provide accurate and impartial information, thus developing therapeutic plans, in a way that promotes satisfactory results in care and, consequently, in the health of the individual. Among the complementary integrative practices, the choice of Biodanza should be considered as a system with the possibility of an effective application for health. The referred study is a research of the interventionist clinical trial type, case control, where Biodanza sessions will be carried out for a period of 6 months, with a sample of 22 patients, being 11 Intervention group and 11 control group, selected in an outpatient clinic. A referral hospital for infectious diseases in Paraíba, with application of pre and post-tests. We will use as tools, the WHOQOL-120 HIV instrument, already validated in Brazil for the Portuguese language, to assess quality of life and biological markers: quantification of viral load, TCD4 and TCD8, to assess the patients immunological profile. These tools will be applied in the experimental group, with the intervention of Biodanza and in the control group, without the intervention of Biodanza. We will evaluate the sociodemographic profile of the patients, in both groups. At the end of the research, a post-test, described above, will be applied in order to assess the changes that occurred under the influence of the theme under study, in relation to the immunological profile and quality of life of patients living with HIV/AIDS. The analysis of the data will be confronted with case-control for better reliability of the answer. The research continues in progress and should continue for a period of 6 months of interventions, through weekly Biodanza sessions.
