This study of biographical nature, aims to investigate and analyze the conceptions of education educator, historian and writer Carmen Coelho de Miranda Freire (1912-2003) and his contributions to education in the state of Paraíba. It uses as its sources didactic and literary works: "History of Paraíba: for didactic use", 1978, 2nd edition, "The Mansion Square Bela Vista", 1977, 2nd edition and "Diná", 1995. The time frame shown in this study covers the years 1977 to 1999, the period for contemplating writing and publication of selected texts. The New Cultural History and Biography founded theoretically and methodologically the study, and the concept of representation guides the analysis of the relationship between the context of the writings of Carmen Coelho and conceptions of education in those represented. The route personal, social and professional educator, as well as their practice of writing, expressing their integration into Paraíba society, his political, cultural, educational, in which the maintenance of traditions occupies a prominent place.
