Resumo: The present study aims to analyze the treatment given to stylistic elements of language by the author(s) of the textbook hereafter referred to as LD, of the English language "English Vibes for Brazilian Learners," in activities focused on reading discursive genres, namely: artistic painting, social media post, magazine cover, and list of tips, present in pre-reading and reading activities contained in the sections "getting ready for part 1" and "Reading comprehension" of the aforementioned LD, selected to compose the corpus of this research. The choice for these sections is by the fact our focus is on activities aimed at reading discursive genres, seeking to catch a glimpse of how the author of the LD treats the stylistic aspects undertaken in genres reading, for then we propose an approach to reading lined on dialogic stylistics. With purpose delimit the focus of our research, we sought to group some theoretical formulations from the Circle on stylistics, and for this purpose, we selected some writings by Bakhtin that explicitly address the theme: "Theory of the Novel I," "Stylistics" translated by Paulo Bezerra (2015); "Issues of Stylistics in Language Teaching," translated by Sheila Grillo and Ekaterina Vólcova (2013); and lastly, "Word in Life and Word in Poetry" by Volóchinov (2019). We analyzed the cited works seeking to systematize Bakhtin's ideas specifically regarding stylistics in order to contribute to the formulation of a theoretical framework to enable a didactic approach for the reader/researcher of the ADD who seeks to study more systematically the notion of stylistics coming from Bakhtin's writings and the Circle's. After formulation of dialogic stylistics, we seek to bring examples of the theory's applicability through samples of speech genre analyses present in the textbook "English Vibes for Brazilian Learners," selected as the corpus of this research. As a theoretical reference, we cite some researchers in the field of Bakhtinian-based discourse studies, such as Brait (2005; 2006), Faraco (2009), Fiorin (2009), Puzzo (2017), among other scholars who corroborate Bakhtin's ideas. Regarding the historical route of Rhetoric and stylistics in the 20th century, we reference Aristotle (2011), Martins (2000), Gérard Gennette (1966), Cohen (1975), Fiorin (2014), Puzzo (2017), Vossler (1963). Regarding the type of methodological referral for conducting the research, we trail the path of bibliographic research, with a qualitative-interpretivist nature. The present thesis seeks to interpret, in an intersubjective manner, the meanings constructed through the dynamic process of verbal interaction among discourse participants. We seek to analyze the stylistic choices made by the author of the LD regarding the emphasis placed on stylistic elements of language or lack thereof in the elaboration of reading activities discourse genres present in the selected textbook chosen for corpus analysis. We sought to demonstrate through corpus analysis that despite the LD author seeking work with genres in the classroom, the emphasis of the questions is placed on the grammatical aspect of the language, as seen in the question of the use of the imperative. The proposal to elaborate questions based on dialogic stylistics, as presented in our analyses, contributed to leading the reader to perceive the specificities of the genre, contextual information about the enunciator subject, the situational context of enunciation, as well as to highlight the intertwining of verbalvisual materialities to achieve a full understanding of the enunciation.
