The present work is divided into two parts, first it aims to analyze how womens individual aspects of such as color, marital status, migration situation, maternity, income affect their insertion in postgraduate courses. Second the work aims to analyze the typification by gender on different areas and the productivity of the researchers at the best departments in Brazil. For this, in the first moment, were used the textit case cohort study and instrumental variables in a probit regression. And in the second part of the work, were used the ScriptLattes tool in Phython language for direct extraction of data from Lattes. As results, factors such as color, income range and whether you have a small child affect a woman’s decision to join at PhD. And there is a typification within the areas of knowledge where women fall into areas that paid less and men in the exact sciences. As for productivity, through the average t test it was possible to state that there is no statistically significant evidence that women produce quantitatively differently from men.
