Resumo: The female prison population has grown considerably in recent decades. Brazil is in the fourth position among the twelve countries that imprison women, however, there are very limited records about the kinship networks of these women, how their children live after her arrest and who is responsible for maintaining the care and the education of these children / adolescents. Objective: To build a technological material in vídeo form with the experience report of children caregivers of women prisoners. In addition to understand the needs of caregivers about the responsibilities with the child/adolescente and highlight difficulties in the care routine. Method: the research had a qualitative, exploratory and transversal design. Participants were 5 grandmothers and 2 aunts who took care of the children / adolescents after the arrest of their mothers. Seven individual semi-structured interviews were carried out in the participants' home. The questions concerned his experiences in caring for his grandchildren or nephews. Data collection happened between April and August 2018, in a city in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, where there is a mixed population prison. The data were transcribed and submitted to the content analysis proposed by Bardin. For the production of the documentary, the images were collected during the interviews. Besides the grandmothers and aunts, a social worker and an anthropologist participated in the documentary. Results: the results of this research show that the coexistence of mothers arrested with their children and relatives is scarce or nonexistent. The caregiver's routine demands a lot of physical, emotional and financial effort, so because of this they do not usually take the children to visit their mother in the prison. In addition, it is common that there are problems in the interpersonal relationship of the caregiver and the mother, resentment and guilt permeate this relationship, making it even more difficult for the children to live with the mother in order to maintain the bond during the fulfillment of the sentence. The final product of this study was the production of vídeo documentary titled: "Women Caring: Real Stories of children caregivers of women prisoners". Applicability of the product: the product will be widely released in order to draw attention for the situation of helplessness that the women who take care of the children of mothers in prison live. It is believed that the video, available free of charge, can be a pedagogical tool in higher education institutions, especially in Social Work, Psychology, Law and Sociology courses. In short, the product will be a triggering device for discussion about this reality, almost invisible in contemporary society. Thus, it is intended to mobilize support strategies to facilitate the experience of caregivers and, as a result, to improve the quality of parenting exercised provisionally by grandparents and aunts.
