Resumo: This dissertation is part of the research line on Teaching, Epistemologies and Teacher Formation of the Master's Degree in the Teaching of Humanities and Languages (MEHL). It deals with the work of lay and religious administrators in the educational units of the Saint Pauline Network. Thus, we defined the following research problem: How do lay and religious administrators act in the Educational Units of the Santa Paulina Network? To this end, we chose as our general objective: to analyze how lay and religious managers act in the Educational Units of the Santa Paulina Network. As specific objectives we listed: a) to understand the impacts on school management since the opening of the Santa Paulina Network to lay administrators; b) to know how lay and religious administrators act in the Educational Units of the Santa Paulina Network; c) to verify how the educational principles of the Educational Units of the Santa Paulina Network constitute the management practices of lay and religious administrators; d) to investigate the challenges and demands in the modes of lay and religious management in the Educational Units of the Santa Paulina Network. The methodology used in the research was characterized by a qualitative approach. The type of study was the case study - Educational Units of the Santa Paulina Network. Thirteen (13) lay and religious managers of the Santa Paulina Network participated in the research. The data collection procedures were: document analysis of the Political Pedagogical Pastoral Project (PPPP), Network Management Manual (MGR) and questionnaire, applied to lay and religious managers of the RSP, via Google Forms. The theoretical framework was based on the studies of: Vieira (2007), Libâneo (2001,2005,2015), Paro (2006), Garay (2011), Lück (2000,2001,2006,2009), Freire (1993) Santos (2013), Ferry (1997), García (1999). The data analysis was based on the Textual Discourse Analysis, from which some categories of analysis emerged, namely: Continuing Education of Teachers and Managers, Spiritual and Human Formation, Participatory and Shared Management and School Management: Pedagogical, Administrative and Financial Tripod. After the analysis and interpretation of the data, the results indicated that the research contributed to qualify the school management processes of the Educational Units of the Santa Paulina Network. However, it is necessary to review and rethink the performance and continuous training of managers, as well as the shared and participatory management of the Units. With regard to the activities of lay and religious managers in the Educational Units of the Santa Paulina Network, despite the advances, there is still a long way to go. Besides the understanding between the religious and humanistic values of the Pauline Network, it was observed that it is of utmost importance to reflect about shared management and understand what it really represents. Moreover, its effective practice is necessary, so that both managers, lay and religious, dialogue and contribute to the better progress of management and the institutions in which they operate.
