Resumo: Many methods and strategies have been used by health services to improve breastfeeding indicators in order to motivate the interest of pregnant women and mothers in breastfeeding. There are studies that prove positive results with the implementation of breastfeeding support rooms in companies, but there are no records in the literature of experiences with the implementation of breastfeeding support rooms in the hospital environment. Justification: The breastfeeding support rooms are strategic and fundamental technological tools for breastfeeding, which can be a support for its continuity among workers, as well as to promote them among breastfeeding women who, for some reason, have their children hospitalized. Objectives: To know, through scientific evidence, the Brazilian panorama on the actions employed to promote breastfeeding in the hospital environment. Implement, as a social technology, a Breastfeeding Support Room to care for nursing mothers, users of the Public Health Network, in a medium-sized hospital in a municipality in the interior of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Scientific research methodology: An integrative literature review was carried out. For the research, the following guiding question was elaborated, what are the actions used to promote, protect and support breastfeeding in the hospital environment? From the assumptions, for the elaboration of this integrative review, six stages were covered. Based on the selected articles, a survey was carried out on their main information, such as: year of publication, objectives, methodology, results. Methodology of the technological product: Based on scientific evidence, the implementation of a breastfeeding support room called - AME was carried out. For implementation, the guidelines set out in the Guide for Implementing Breastfeeding Support Rooms for Working Women were followed. As by-products inherent to the implementation, Standard Operating Procedures on the subject. Results: The results are presented in the format of three manuscripts. The first manuscript, entitled “Breastfeeding: Support, promotion and protection actions in the hospital environment”. The second manuscript, entitled “AME: Implementation of a Breastfeeding Support Room in a hospital in southern Brazil”. And the third manuscript, entitled “Description of the construction process of a Standard Operating Procedure for a Breastfeeding Support Room”. Final Considerations: The acceptance of the AME implementation project: Breastfeeding Support Room, inside the hospital, which serves 100% SUS, a place that is a regional reference in maternal and child care, is a demonstration of the institution's commitment to providing workers, students, mother and children hospitalized on breastfeeding, an adequate breastfeeding environment. In this way, it promotes breastfeeding among hospitalized mothers and children and supports its continuity among hospital workers and students. Technical product: It is characterized as a social technology that presents as the nature of the technical product, according to the Qualis of Technical and Technological Production of CAPES, item 1 Social Technology T1=100 points, aiming at solutions for the social transformation of the individual and the environment.
