Resumo: |
New educational trends have been emerging over time, fundamentally to meet human needs. STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) emerges as an innovative teaching approach. Driven mainly by the low rates of global educational assessments and the reduction of students' interest in these areas of knowledge, essential for the global economic development of any country, STEM education presents an alternative to teaching science and mathematics. Teachers constitute a great support point in any society and especially in promoting Brazilian educational development. At the same time, the National Common Curriculum Base (BNCC) for High School advocates curricular flexibility organized by competencies and skills, which can be achieved through Training Itineraries. Thus, this work proposes a study on Training Itineraries establishing the existing relationships between the BNCC and evidence of STEM education, from the perspective of basic education teachers who develop content in Natural Sciences and Mathematics. The scope of the research has a qualitative approach using the case study in YIN'S meanings. The assessments of this research are applied to a micro-universe of teachers in two schools, one public and one private, and a view of the whole with teachers belonging to a virtual environment. Initially, an analysis is carried out in the official documents and legal bases. Afterwards, a structured questionnaire is carried out with the teachers, which evokes fundamental subsidies in the analysis of the data between the two spheres, micro-universe and macro-universe, using the SWOT matrix (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) as an evaluation tool. The content analysis adopts Bardin's stages. We believe that the research points to signs and eminent teaching challenges in STEM in the new BNCC and respective articulations; those new indicators of teaching strategies are created with the aim of awakening the curiosity and interest of students. |
