The present study, linked to the MSc in Science and Mathematics Teaching at the Franciscan University (UFN), aimed to verify the contributions of a proposal of teaching of Statistics for the 9th year of elementary school, focusing on literacy, reasoning and statistical thinking, in order to see how one can collaborate with the teaching of statistics in basic education. For that, a research of an applied nature was developed, approaching the problem qualitatively and quantitatively, through exploratory research and using the technical procedures of bibliographical, documentary, mapping and case study research, with the application a pre-test, a didactic sequence and a post-test. The theoretical framework provides information related to statistical education, the three pillars of teaching: literacy, reasoning and statistical thinking, the Common Curricular Base and the State Guidelines of Rio Grande do Sul. The data collected were categorized, compiled and had statistical treatment by the SPSS program and the t test tool. The results show that the teaching proposal through a didactic sequence was able to collaborate with the teaching of statistics in basic education in the case analyzed and, consequently, contribute to the development of literacy, thinking and statistical reasoning. |
