Resumo: Introduction: Breast cancer is defined as a disease that forms from abnormal cell growth. The guidelines for breast cancer detection in Brazil prioritize mammography, in addition to breast self-examination and clinical examination. The Ministry of Health, through the Pact System, establishes priorities, objectives, goals and indicators on the reason for screening mammography exams, for women aged 50 to 69 and the population of the same age group, as an important diagnostic mechanism early for breast cancer. Objectives: To create digital media, through social networks, that provide information on Breast Cancer prevention; know the experiences of women to undergo a mammography exam, provided by the Unified Health System; and, to clarify the possible doubts of the people who access the digital media tool, on the issues of Breast Cancer and mammography. Methodology: This is a study of qualitative, exploratory and descriptive approach, carried out with users of public health services, referred for mammography, in a city in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul, from August to October 2020. Results: Manuscript 1 aimed to identify scientific productions about the effectiveness of performing a mammography exam by the Unified Health System. Articles published and indexed in the Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences and Scientific Electronic Library Online databases were evaluated, using the time frame from 2008 to 2020, considering that the mammography exam by the Unified Health System Saúde was implemented in 2008. As results, nine articles were found that met the proposed objective. It was concluded that early detection and treatment are generally considered to be the most effective means of reducing cancer mortality, considering that mammography for screening breast cancer is highly effective. Manuscript 2 aimed to identify the weaknesses and potentials experienced by women to undergo a mammography exam, made available by the Unified Health System. To this end, a study research was developed, with a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive approach, carried out with users of public health services, in a municipality in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul, from August to October 2020. It was observed that, despite the municipality offering the mammography exam by the Unified Health System, the geographic, social and economic factors emerged as justifications for not attending the public health service, to carry out the examination to aid the diagnosis. Final considerations: The results of this research provided a greater understanding of the difficulties faced by women in performing mammography. It is hoped that the product built can motivate women to look for this exam, through its visibility and adequate guidance on its use. Product and its applicability: This study enabled the construction of a product entitled “Good Grip”. It is an educational tool through digital media. It is believed that the product of this work, with content on breast cancer prevention, emphasizing the mammography exam as a method of screening and clarifying doubts, favors the increased demand for the tests offered by the public health system.
