Resumo: This study aimed to analyze how the continuing education of early childhood teachers in rural schools, in the lowland region of the Amazon in the state of Pará, in the city of Santarém, takes place. As specific objectives, we sought to identify the profile of Early Childhood Education teachers, analyze the continuing education policies for Early Childhood Education teachers implemented in the researched municipality and investigate the impact of Continuing Education for Early Childhood Education Teachers on their teaching practices. We opted for the qualitative approach of the case study type, with analysis of the content of Bardin (2007), using the questionnaire. The results show the need for a policy of continuing education focused on early childhood education in the countryside. In this sense, there is a greater appreciation of these professionals since educators seek their training through their own means. Therefore, it is emphasized, therefore, the need to undertake training policies for early childhood education in the countryside in order to enhance the valorization of teachers and the constant commitment to quality and transformative education with the peoples of the countryside.
