Resumo: This professional master degree dissertation was developed within the Research Line called Teaching and Learning in Science and Mathematics, of the Professional Master Degree Program in Science and Mathematics Teaching at the Franciscan University, located in the city of Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul. In the theoretical framework, childhood and its relationships with educating and caring are discussed, as well as the importance of experimentation at this stage of life and the teaching of science in Early Childhood Education, as they are recommended in the fields of experiences of the National Common Curricular Base. The general objective that configured this study was to investigate contributions of an itinerant trunk of experiences as a pedagogical resource for the teaching of Natural Sciences in Early Childhood Education. As for the specific objectives, the following were outlined: to relate the literature on experimentation and playfulness in science teaching in childhood; to identify the perceptions about science teaching of teachers who are working in schools with preschool-age children; to build an itinerant trunk of experiences for teaching science in Early Childhood Education; to identify the child's perception during the development process of the experiences. To respond to the objectives, we opted for a qualitative research with an exploratory and descriptive nature. For the data collection, the research was divided into two moments. The first one, from the perspective of the collaborating teachers, and the second one, from the perspective of the students/children who participated in the experiments. With the teachers, the path followed was from a questionnaire sent via the Google Form platform. For this study, a group of collaborators working in public and private schools in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, was chosen. The research that gave rise to the educational product elaborated in this work is entitled “Itinerant trunk as a pedagogical resource for teaching natural sciences in Early Childhood Education”. The results showed that the proposed experiments contribute in a very satisfactory way in the teaching of science in Early Childhood Education. It is concluded that the itinerant trunk, as an educational product, proved to be a good resource for investigative classes, and it can be used in many other ways and in different areas of knowledge.
