Resumo: |
The parturition process is influenced by several elements, including eating habits, physical activity, emotional and psychological aspects, worked throughout the prenatal period in order to minimize complications and avoid high-risk pregnancy. However, few studies aimed to investigate the relationship between the intake of dates and the effects on labor, which are Islamic studies. Objectives: To describe the frequency of intake of dates, cervical dilatation and time of labor in pregnant women at usual risk. Validate a food and nutrition care guide for labor aimed at health professionals. Methodology: This is a product development study, it is organized in two phases. In the first one, a case series study was carried out. The population consisted of pregnant women, primiparous women and primiparous women at usual risk, living in two cities in the Mesoregions of the Northwest and West Center of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (RS). The included habitual risk pregnant women answered a structured questionnaire containing economic and demographic, nutritional and obstetric data. From 36 weeks of gestation until birth, during prenatal consultations, they received 80g of dates weekly. At the time of childbirth, a form was filled out containing information on obstetric data, complications, medication use, and non-pharmacological technologies. In the second phase, a study with descriptive design of methodological validation of instrument was developed. It consisted in the elaboration and validation of the content of a Guide for professionals in the health area who work in prenatal and parturient care. The Guide was created by an obstetric nurse and nutritionist based on a narrative review of the literature and the use of the best technical form of material construction. Being sent to health experts through Google Forms, with an invitation letter explaining the study proposal and an evaluation form. The content analysis of the Guide was performed using the Delphi method and a content validity index of 0.90 was considered acceptable. Results: Ten pregnant women participated, the median intake of dates was 14.00 (8.74-20.00) days, 4 (40%) had vaginal delivery, the median time of labor was 440.83 (113, 50 - 1025.75) minutes, 8 (80%) did not use oxytocin. To validate the content of the Guide, the sample consisted of 20 specialists, 10 (50.0%) nurses, 6 (30.0%) nutritionists, 2 (10.0%) physiotherapists and 2 (10, 0%) obstetricians. The Content Validity Index (CVI) referring to importance, didactic content and degree of relevance obtained the value 1.0, but some suggestions were described by the judges for the final version of the Guide. Final Considerations: The results suggest that the recommended intake of dates can contribute to reducing the duration of labor by decreasing the number of interventions such as the use of oxytocin. Technical/technological product: A guide with food and nutritional guidelines was created, allowing its applicability in prenatal care as an incentive for normal delivery. |
