Resumo: The investigation will approach the theme about the performance of the pedagogical coordinator and in the school management process in schools of the Municipal Network of Alegrete/RS. The study brings as a problem what is the role of the pedagogical coordinator and its repercussion in the process of school management in schools of the Municipal Public Education Network of Alegrete - RS? Based on the issues raised, the objectives were listed: to reflect on the legal and theoretical assumptions that underlie the functions assigned to the pedagogical coordinator; to identify the profile of the pedagogical coordinators of the Municipal Education Network of Alegrete, to investigate how the pedagogical coordinators carry out their work of school management in the Municipal Education Network of Alegrete. The research has a qualitative approach described with document analysis. As a way of interpreting the data to be researched, content analysis was used, proposed by Bardin (2016). The survey results showed that the pedagogical coordinators interviewed face many challenges in the performance of their functions, especially during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, where these professionals had to re-signify the entire pedagogical process of the school, as well as helping families, students and teachers. This investigation contributed to improve the management process of the pedagogical coordinator, as well as for the entire Municipal Network of Alegrete/RS.
