Resumo: This research aims to understand the Perceptions and Social Impacts of Telework, based on the case of technical-administrative staff at the Federal Universityof MatoGrosso (UFMT) from 2020 to 2023, marked by two significant events: theCovid-19pandemic and the implementation of the Performance and Management Program(PGD). The study seeks to comprehend how this remote work modality hasaffectedlabor and social dynamics, both during and after the emergency phase of thehealthcrisis. The specific objectives include: a) Understanding the impact of thetransitionfrom formal to informal work environments on the productivity and performanceofUFMT's technical-administrative staff; b) Assessing how factors such asaccesstotechnological resources, technical support, autonomy, work-life balance, andothersinfluenced the adaptation to telework; c) Conducting a statistical analysisof theassociations between the investigated variables to identify relevant patternscontributing to the understanding of the adaptation process. The hypothesessuggestthat variables such as academic background, age, job position, and lengthof servicesignificantly influence perceptions and experiences with telework, impactingproductivity and service quality. The study adopts a deductive and systemicapproach, grounded in Popper's theories (2005), with a quantitative analysis of datacollectedthrough a questionnaire applied to the staff. To analyze the associationsbetweenvariables, the G Test was used, supported by R software for data processing. Thefindings conclude that telework, initially adopted as an emergency measure, hasgenerated lasting impacts on the work dynamics at UFMT, necessitatingmoreflexible public policies. The research revealed significant associations betweenwell-being, productivity, and technical support, with staff satisfaction influencedbyflexibility and provided support. However, challenges such as the senseof belongingand equity of opportunities were highlighted. Therefore, it is essential toaddressthese gaps to promote a more inclusive and effective work environment. Theresearch provides insights for formulating public policies that consider theneedsofthe staff.
