Resumo: | This study aimed to carry out an analysis of the causal nexus between the activity developed and the illness process, analyzed through the medical leave of teaching staff working at the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), as well as to identify the possible relationships between the illness and the place of work of teaching staff. The methodology used in the study included two stages: a first stage that performed the collection of epidemiological data from teaching staff, and a second stage that counted on the quantitative analysis, in the six-year period from 2014 to 2019, of the records of leave / leave due to health reasons teaching staff, approved by the Integrated Personnel Administration System (SIAPE) and the Integrated Server Health Care Subsystem (SIASS). For analysis, documents from the Social Assistance and Server Health (CASS) area of UFMT and other institutional data such as statistical yearbooks and UFMT management reports were also incorporated. It was possible to verify the absence of a policy to promote and prevent workers' health at UFMT, a situation that may have aggravated the epidemiological picture of illness at the institution during the period under investigation. The analysis of data from records of leave / leave due to health reasons approved by SIASS and other data referring to the health status of teaching staff, between the years 2014 to 2019, allowed to observe that the highest percentage of teaching leave is included in the category “Factors that influence health status and contact with health services” (ICD Z), then we have more prevalent the categories “mental and behavioral disorders” (ICD F) and lastly “diseases of the musculoskeletal system and connective tissue ”(ICD M). The average age of teachers who fell ill in the 2014-2019 sexennium was 43.3 years. Being that women teachers are more prevalent in the records of general illness (54.6%), as well as there is also a greater record of women teachers at UFMT with illness in the category “Mental and Behavioral Disorders” (57.9% with ICD F). Such comorbidities can be related to high demand and demand for academic productivity in the work environment, precariousness in the physical structure, associated with the absence of prevention programs and health promotion of the teaching staff in the academic area. As a suggestion for improvements, it is necessary to implement programs of attention to workers' health, together with the occupational health and safety teams, in order to identify and control the risk factors present in the work environment. Also, greater integration and participation of health professionals, be they in the areas of psychology, medicine, physical education, nutrition, nursing and social work, in order to think about actions aimed at mapping, diagnosing and promoting health actions and quality of life. |
