Resumo: The constitution of the city is not only formed by its physical structure, but also by the particularities of social relations and, above all, the cultural manifestations that are established and organized there, therefore, this work consists of a research of a cultural, artistic nature. and urban planning, and is based on an ethnography carried out in the Osmar Cabral neighborhood and its surroundings, focusing on the streets. With the exponential growth of cities in the 20th century, there are changes in the patterns of production and appropriation of urban space, bringing changes in the way of organization of cities, which became increasingly populous and geographically spread, generating several urban problems. Among them, the difficulty of displacement due to great distances and the segregation of urban public services stand out. Thus, it is observed how the residents of the Osmar Cabral neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, resign themselves to these problems. The general objective of this dissertation is to analyze and interpret the different forms of use and occupation that residents of the Osmar Cabral neighborhood establish with the streets and their sociability practices, inherent to their immediate needs. The streets in the Osmar Cabral neighborhood represent uniqueness, a reality in motion, which can be translated as locais identity. It is used for coexistence, meeting, leisure, for games as an expression of playfulness, it is the space of belonging, a place for exchanges, improvisation and experiences. This research deals with spatial experiences and sociocultural dynamics belonging to the region, aiming to analyze the different forms of use and occupation permeated by the cultural language of belonging and appropriation of the streets. The methodological procedure adopted to enable this analysis/interpretation focuses on the observation of everyday practices in urban space, through images and interviews. Thus, direct observation was used in the spaces, with notes and photographic records. Thus, it is possible to understand the peculiar way of reinventing spaces, specifically the streets, determined by the form of sociability that singularizes the urban environment of this place.
