Resumo: | The historical construction of an androcentric model that considers women to be inferior permeates all spheres of society, and is even reflected in the field of work. The context of inequality in women's performance permeates all spaces, and their intersectionality as class, race and gender, not being different, even in the legal context of the Brazilian judiciary. Despite the insertion of the people who are part of the judiciary to be carried out through a public competition, there are other practices of entry and promotion in the career that are guided by parameters that hinder the development of the female career in this space, being submitted to subtle phenomena such as the “ceiling” glass "and" crystal maze "that segregate and hinder the entry, permanence and rise of women in the judiciary. In the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil, women represent 18.5% of the number of judges and 23% of judges. In view of these data, a qualitative research was carried out that aimed to know the professional trajectories of magistrates in the state of Mato Grosso, identifying the limitations, influences and ways of coping with phenomena such as “glass ceiling” and “crystal labyrinth” in the scenario of magistracy. As a methodological subsidy to develop the present theme, the qualitative research method with a descriptive and bibliographic profile was chosen. For data collection, semi structured interviews were chosen and for data treatment, Content Analysis was used. The arguments were organized and presented through the following categories that made possible the presentation of an understandable panorama about the trajectory of each magistrate: 1) Balancing work and private life; 2) Women and the glass ceiling in the judiciary and 3) Quality of life in the work of magistrates. In the categories raised, it was possible to verify that despite the discourse of equality, the female professional condition makes gender a factor that cannot be dissociated from professional identity.Professional challenges are common for women magistrates in different careers and generations and it has not become less because they have taken on a more privileged position in the organizational hierarchy. Through the analysis of the contents brought by the magistrates it was evident that in the legal organizational structure the phenomena of glass ceiling and crystal labyrinth were present since the magistrates managed to reach a certain position and when in these, they entered paths and paths that made it difficult to overtake the ceiling of glass for the highest positions of the judiciary. Thus, there was a noticeable need to expand discussions and provoke the dissemination of ideas for the creation of new social representations around women in command positions, promoting the overcoming of gender inequality. The creation of a job promotion policy through shared management is another path that can be taken in overcoming inequalities, whether they be gender, race or social class. The judicial system urgently needs to be democratized, guaranteeing diversity through transparent actions and practices of selection and promotion to vacancies in the legal structure, as well as the creation of indications that show how the percentages destined to gender and race have been used. In addition to broad democratization, it is necessary to unveil and re-signify stereotypes and social prejudices so that we can change the current reality, bringing into the future context practices that enable parity of female representation in the Judiciary. |
