Resumo: This research entitled Serys Marly Slhessarenko's life trajectories between Teaching and Politics was carried out in the Postgraduate Course in Education, at the master's level, offered by the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), in the research line “School Organization, Training and Pedagogical Practices” and in the research group “Teaching and social memory, political action of subjects involved in teaching and in the exercise of elective political positions”, which includes the project “Gender, Life and Action: memories of teachers who have exercised elective positions at the municipal, state and federal levels”. The research was developed with the objective of recording the life trajectories of Serys Marly Slhessarenko, who served for 26 years as a university professor and held three consecutive terms as deputy. State and a term as senator. The research is justified by the historicity of the struggle that the teacher fought for public education and social minorities. We tried to investigate the role of Professor Serys Marly Slhessarenko in the political scenario, seeking answers to the following questions, as a participant in this process, did she contribute to education in Mato Grosso and, if so, how? To make this memorial record effective, we used the qualitative methodology and the method of prosopography, which allows the approach of individual and collective memories, oral and documentary. Access to reminiscences was made possible through interviews with family members, alumni, and party partners. We also used bibliographic and documentary research as a data collection resource. The analysis of the documents was carried out through the parliamentary minutes of the Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso, pronouncements made in the Senate and projects presented during the exercise of the senatorial. The materials collected and analyzed showed that Serys contributed to the public education of Mato Grosso as a teacher, manager and politician, since there is no way to disassociate one function from the other. Her actions showed the alignment of her life trajectory with her ideals as an educator and politician. We also found that Professor Serys' party identity was present during her political exercise, which points to coherence between the party's flags of struggle and its actions. As basic references about memory, we consider the studies of Jacque Le Goff (2003), Maurice Halbwachs (1990), Ecléa Bosi (1994), Paul Ricouer (2007). Regarding the method used, Lawrence Stone (2011). The theoretical support about politics was based on the studies of Pierre de Bourdieu (2005), Max Weber (2011), Filipe Demier (2003), Luana Simões Pinheiro (2006), Michelle Perrot (1988), Eric Hobsbawm (2011), among others.
