Resumo: | This work has as main objective the presentation of a geometry tool, the calculation of area in regular and non-regular figures. A contribution of geometry of great importance to research in the field of topography and as part of one of its applications for the understanding of mathematics classes by students of basic education and reflections contained in the National Curriculum Parameters of Elementary and High School. It starts with the history of geometry to the present day and a brief commentary on the different divisions of geometry. A description of the surveyor’s profession and one of its subdivisions is made - the topography, history and contribution of geometry in that profession and the calculation of the area of some irregular figures, which is the main point of this study. Show a brief account of the emergence of surveying in Brazil and the difference between surveying and topography. In basic education, show the different ways of calculating the area of irregular regions using the triangulation technique, from the appropriate formulas for each polygonal region to the use of determinants in situations where cartesian coordinates are presented. It is hoped that this work will generate more knowledge, expand the dialogue between mathematics educators, especially the understanding on the part of students, promoting reflections in order to create proposals in mathematics for elementary school. |
