This paper studies the dynamics of the Industrial District of Cuiabá (MT), has as object conduct academic research to show the vectors of industrial expansion, the viability of the occupation of the area, and the importance of this sector in the local economy. For this analysis was taken socioeconomic area. The work includes authors who discuss the production in urban areas derived from industrialization; the techniques used for Remote Sensing and GIS with high resolution pictures were possible to construct maps of the years 2007 (SPOT satellite image) and 2012 (aerial photography) to show changes in the environment in comparison of images and numerical data. The population density compared with the period of greatest development of the city; Gross Domestic Product was analyzed to show the growth in the local economy, the gross value added of the industry; part listed guidelines to foster industrial production according to the Master Plan for Strategic Development of Cuiabá; the evolution of firms established, in deployment and employment generation was studied; were worked out and discussed the vectors of expansion and elaborated the mapping of industries; The research allowed to identify industrial growth, depletion of lots and a poor infrastructure in the area, so we have suggested a reclassification of Industrial District, and new investments in infrastructure and service, which will contribute to the strengthening of DI and insert to improve the participation of Cuiabá in the national industrial competitiveness circuits, thereby contributing to the attraction of new enterprises.
