Resumo: This dissertation sought to analyze the socio-historical trajectory of the LGBT Movement in Mato Grosso seeking to identify: the main events that led to their emergence on the public scene, the individuals (those) involved in its formation, the matters contained in his book, their main demands and control strategies. Gender and social movements were defined to support the analysis of the Movement theoretical categories. The research relied on semi-structured interviews with militants of the Movement, the documentary sources consultations and consultations on the Internet to survey existing LGBT organizations in the state. Data analysis revealed that the first manifestations of the LGBT Movement in Mato Grosso occur from mid-1990s with the creation of the first LGBT organization. In reconstructing the trajectory Movement was possible to identify several spaces / shapes from which to organize the LGBT population. Since more formal settings such as NGOs to more informal spaces as LGBT collectives. From 2004 shows the segmentation of the Movement for identities. The agenda of the Movement has changed during the period. In the early years, the fight against AIDS and the political organization of LGBT people have centrality in its agenda. However, from the first decade of this century, the struggle for rights and the implementation of public policies for the protection and promotion of human rights of LGBT people now have hegemony on the agenda. It is not, however, a linear and cumulative process, many of the initial questions still remain of the Movement agenda, such as the fight against violence, which is currently expressed through the fight against homophobia. We pointed out the achievements and challenges of the Movement, and finally, we present prospects for the realization of rights, highlighting the relevance of the joint struggles for recognition of the differences with the struggle for universal rights.
