Resumo: The set of official documents that govern Brazilian and Mato Grosso education from the Federal Constitution of 1988 to the Common National Curriculum Base of 2017 provide for the preparation for the exercise of citizenship as one of the purposes of national education. Thus, our dissertation has as general objective to make a discussion about the concept of citizenship, the vote and its relationship with the teaching of history. We also consider it relevant, to think about the social role of students and the importance of them perceiving themselves as active subjects in society, belonging to a community. To this end, we understand that both the content of our proposal when they are structured with students as active subjects in the teaching-learning process. Thus, the present study has as its central objective the production of a didactic sequence on citizenship and the vote as a suggestion for work in the history classes in the 3rd year of high school of basic education. Thus, the proposal of didactic sequence with citizenship as an axis will be presented as a product in our Professional Master's degree in history teaching. Regarding the research methodology, it should be recorded that we resort to bibliographic research and work with concepts in history.
