Resumo: The present dissertation is built from the results of research carried out within the scope of the Graduate Program in Law at the Federal University of Mato Grosso (hereby UFMT/PPPGD), between the years 2020 to 2022. The chosen theme concerns racial discrimination in labor relations in Brazil. In this sense, understanding that the Brazilian social reality is structured through different kinds of inequalities, such as those of economic and gender bias, it is identified that racial bias is also latent in several relationships. The present study analyzes racial inequality in labor relations, understanding that this discriminatory modality has a way of awakening the slave regime on Brazilian soil, however, it remained and was consolidated by several other mechanisms, which made racial discrimination mold and reinvent itself in Brazilian society, taking on a structural characteristic. Therefore, understanding that racial discrimination is a constant in the Brazilian reality, the main objective of the research is to analyze the types of discrimination possible in the work environment, demonstrating paradigmatic cases and mainly that, even in the face of legislative provisions prohibiting it, both national and international, it still remains latent in the work environment. At the end, possible mechanisms to combat the discriminatory phenomenon are pointed out. The research is bibliographical, with documental and doctrinal analysis, as well as some judicial decisions. In conclusion, the discriminatory reality in the work environment in Brazil is a reality and, despite several legislative advances on the subject, there are still difficulties in the application of different mechanisms to combat the phenomenon, which makes that they are little used and even discredited.
