Resumo: Serious environmental problems are arising from some types of use and inappropriate land use. Examples are wastewater treatment plants which aims to reduce the contaminant or pollutant load of wastewater to a level compatible with the receiving body, or so that the final treated effluent can be discharged without causing the degradation of water and without any risk to human health. However in many cases, this function is not answered. The objective of this study was the environmental assessment of Watershed River stream Embauval, tributary of the Rio Cuiabá, emphasizing the potential impacts that may be caused in it by virtue of the release of wastewater from Newfoundland Residential condominium in surface source. The study is for the months of May, August, September, October and December 2013 and January 2014. For the development of this diagnosis, Watershed was characterized by laboratory analysis of water samples from the body of water than the use of Geographic Information System - GIS. Raw wastewater samples were collected and treated in the sewage treatment plant - ETE, Embauval stream samples near its source, upstream and downstream of the release of treated effluent. The variables analyzed were: pH, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5), chemical oxygen demand (COD), total solids, fixed total solids, total volatile solids, sediments, nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, nitrogen full kjeldahl, total phosphorus , total coliforms and fecal coliforms. The analytical results of Embauval stream water showed that the Water Quality Index - IQA the three points Bad, presented results that do not meet the specified quality for bodies of freshwater water class 2. Watershed in the permanent preservation areas were occupied by residences, most of the units that are leased to stream edge release their untreated sewage into the environment, there is disposal of solid waste in vacant lots and surface waters. TEE studied had operational problems requiring adequacy, but this achieved efficiency in the treatment of BOD5 and COD of 85%.
