Resumo: ABSTRACT: This thesis sought to investigate the possible cultural mediations between the Paraguay’s culture and the Cuiaba’s culture, through the Rasqueado Cuiabano one of the icons of the local "identity", from the traces of its growth in historical time, especially the probable influences, from the invasion of the south of Mato Grosso by Paraguayans, which resulted in the Paraguayan War (1865-1870), involving four countries in the largest conflict in South America: Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina. The war brought many difficulties to the inhabitants of the state capital, who were deprived of the main means of transport to the imperial court and other localities, suffering the suffering the shortage and high food prices and without news and updates with the world. Most studies on the historiography of the Paraguayan war exclude the invasion of Mato Grosso, focusing on the controversial issues of this historical event, which redesigned the map of the countries present in the Bacia do Prata, delimiting the new territory Geopolitical of the Portuguese occupation in the Brazilian Midwest. First we will show the results of the research about the music Rasqueado Cuiabano after the auditory analysis of recorded songs, then we present the origins of its historical growth from the processes of hybridization of the culture Portuguese with Cururu and Siriri; And finally, the historical sources and other histories of the Rasqueado Cuiabano and the Paraguayan war to show that has similarities with the Paraguayan polka, because both have reconsidered the European polka as a response to the social environment of each Location, with results completely different from each other. In light of the concept of hybridism of the contemporary anthropologist Néstor Canclini, we intend to analyze, what is traditional and modern, popular and massive, that show the complexities of the relations that deal with traditional cultures that coexist with modernity, and therefore, need of approaches that privilege the aspects of plurality of the object in question, interfaced in the Latin American cultural relations that suffered the influence of Europeans who came to colonize the continent and therefore coexisted since its beginnings, generating "merging processes" that, at different times of the Twentieth Century, can be called westernization, acculturation, transcultural, cultural heterogeneity, globalization and hybridism, and some phenomena that participate in this context of tensions as "multitemporal heterogeneity" with the expansion of urban spaces, one of the causes of the intensification of the process of cultural hybridization.
