Resumo: | This study comprises an issue of great social relevance to Brazil: domestic violence against women. Law No. 11340 of 07 August 2006, known as Maria da Penha Law passed to regulate the processing and prosecution of crimes committed in the domestic realm, instituting even the formulation of public policies that help victims to overcome the cycle of violence in which are involved. With the enactment of Law Maria da Penha, the Brazilian government has undertaken to curb this type of violation that causes damage physical, emotional and social in victim, his family and society. The study revealed that although advances promoted by the relevant legislation in order to publicize the issue and make it a social problem, much remains to be done to ensure the punishment of offenders and especially the prevention of this practice. Reflection of the structural inequalities between men and women in society, gender violence in the domestic mode was always treated as a private problem with your solution to be found by the family, however, it reveals itself as the place where breed the greatest cruelties practiced against women. In order to know who the women victims of domestic violence in the city of Cuiabá, in the year 2010, the study was developed through desk research, with information obtained in the opinions psychosocial performed by teams of professionals working in the 1st and 2nd Varas Specialized Domestic and Family Violence of the district of Cuiabá. The data refer to cases where offender and victim have a close relationship, current or no, and the survey sample was obtained by random choice of one of the four pairs in the two rods that act of domestic violence, whose service was held at year 2010. Based on data and analysis, we found that instances prevalent among victims of certain social groups or breed indiscriminately cuiabana in society. In light of studies on gender relations, analyzing the relationship between domestic violence and the social context of these women, checking how socioeconomic factors may influence the reproduction and maintenance of this practice. By knowing these women victims, verified the presence of women of all social groups, but the predominance of the victims is similar to the representation of victims nationwide, namely: young women in conditions of social vulnerability and level of education and income low. It follows hence, the need for universal state actions to address all kinds of victims, but trying to build public policies that address the specific characteristics of each social group, to ensure women's citizenship and human rights women. |
