Resumo: | In the decade of Cuiabá’s tercentenary commemoration, we have witnessed a celebration of the historic city with big urban development projects where a series of neglects with its cultural heritage have shown the contradictions between the old city ande the project of a modern metropolis, Project that have been carried out due to the consolidation of culture and tourism policies as instruments of urban development. However, in this context of spetacularization of the city, i seek to investigate averyday apropriations in collective spaces in Cuiabá as a resistence to this process, especially in the territories that have undergone major utban operations due to the creation of tourist attractions for the realization of the 2 big events of the decade: the World Cup in 2014 and the city’s 300th year anniversary in 2019. Therefore, this research proposes a overlap of theoretical approaches in order to follow the dynamic of the contemporary cities: wanderings through the city (JACQUES, 2008; 2009), the cartographic method (PASSOS; KASTRUP; ESCÓSIA, 2009) and urban ethnography urbana (MAGNANI, 2002; LEITE, 2002). The construction of the theoretical field of research refers to authors who criticize the advent of modernity (BALLESTRIN, 2013), its consequences in the urban planning (SERPA, 2007; LEITE, 2002) and in everyday life (LEFEBVRE, 1991; SANTOS, 2006) and the possibilities of resistance in the city's collective spaces , through interventions and appropriations (FONTES, 2011). The research premise implies field work through wanderings through the city, investigating and observing the ways to appropriate public space in Cuiabá It is expected, based on routes taken on foot in the street and based on the assessment of urban and tourist development plans for the period under analysis, to assess an apparent contradiction of the new tourist facilities created with the ways of appropriating the spaces of the city and a possible coloniality of the urban culture and the ways we use urban public spaces (MAGNANI, 1996). |
