Resumo: This research proposes a reflection on the theme of childhood seeking an argument that interweaves the notions of leisure culture, identities, values, meanings and media. In contemporary times, we have observed that children have assumed social roles every day closer than we could denominate adult universe, taking as reference characters that stand out in the media. Assuming the backdrop of such questioning, this research has focused on understanding the meanings children construct about the media discourse and how they express themselves in their ways of being, acting, and relating to others in educational contexts, as school and Toy. That said, we seek to investigate the appropriations that children make of media discourses in their games and how they emerge in dialogues that they establish among themselves and in the interactions that take place. More specifically, we intend to analyze the following issues: the meanings that children attribute to the elements that compose the identities of the characters of the media, how these meanings appear in the dialogues that children settle in their peer cultures and the cultures that produce entertainment; analyze information and media texts that children bring in their speeches, in interactions that occur in educational settings such as school and playroom. The theoretical grounding sustains itself with four contributions: the enunciation theory, the childhood sociology, the child and play culture, the relationship between children, media and identity construction. This is a qualitative research conducted with children of 5 to 6 years old in two distinct spaces: the Laboratory of Playfulness (Playroom) from the Rondonópolis Campus of the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), and a public school in Early Childhood Education, from the local district of Rondonópolis, Mato Grosso. The methodology, as a matter of intervention, has as main features workshops developed with children, interviews and listings through a field journal. The speeches produced by children are analyzed from the perspective of bakhtianiana theory based on the concepts of dialogism and alterity. As a conclusion, we highlight, in groups of children, the emergency of meanings related to beauty associated with lean and slim body, the purchasing power, consumption, fame, status and visibility as important attributes in the composition of idealized identities and pursued by children as well as understood by them as fundamental to compound ways of being. It is intended with this research contribute to research in the field of humanities and social sciences in order to understand the changes that occur in children's leisure experiences, values, and consequently the process of constitution of their identities as well as meanings that children construct amid symbolic references that circulate in the media culture.
