The present dissertation aims at an analysis of dialectic and rhetorical discourse in Aristotle from the reading of works Topics and Rhetoric. This study aims to verify the levels of influence of the dialectical theory, which is presented in the definitions found in the Topics and in the Prior Analytics and Posterior Analytics, in the systematization of the rhetoric undertaken in Rhetoric. Although there are innumerable interpretations of the relationship between the notions of dialectic and rhetoric in Aristotle, we seek to develop an interpretation that would value the dialectic more and that would bring the paper a function that closely approximates a general theory of discourse, including rhetoric.
