Resumo: Startups are newly created companies that are in the process of maturing their business model. They have an innovative and disruptive profile and, being still in the early stages, face great challenges and risks, but also have great growth potential in their sectors. One of the fundamental characteristics of a startup is the search for a scalable business model, which can be defined as one that grows rapidly without needing an increase in production costs, meaning great results with little investment. Startups can play a significant role in agribusiness production chains, bringing innovations and technological solutions that add value at different points along these chains. With this purpose, AgTechs emerge—startups with solutions for various agribusiness chains. These companies are fundamental for achieving various goals related to productivity, sustainability, and potential cost reduction. In the dynamic context of agribusiness, AgTechs play an increasingly important role in introducing innovations and disruptive technologies. However, the organizational maturity of these startups is a critical issue that can affect their ability to achieve sustainable success. A business maturity assessment model can be a valuable tool for companies to understand their current state and identify areas for improvement. The combined use of CMMI and the CERNE Model to propose a maturity model for AgTechs is highly strategic, as it combines the robustness and process orientation of CMMI with the flexibility and innovation focus of the CERNE Model. The objective of this research is to propose a model for evaluating the management maturity level of AgTechs established in the innovation ecosystem of Mato Grosso agribusiness. Regarding the classification of the methodology, the research was qualitative in approach and descriptive concerning its objectives. In terms of the procedural aspect of data collection, the investigation involved bibliographic and documentary research. The research was conducted in partnership with AgriHub, an innovation network in agriculture and livestock, with the purpose of integrating technology, people, processes, and the field. A total of 2,122 AgTechs were mapped, of which only 484 completed the registration in My AgriHub. The study demonstrated that Mato Grosso AgTechs, despite facing challenges such as the need for problem/solution validation, market traction, and business model sustainability, have significant potential to contribute to Brazilian agribusiness. The importance of a qualified team, well-defined strategies, products aligned with market needs, and a viable business model are fundamental aspects for the success and sustainable growth of these startups.
