Resumo: | The state of Mato Grosso has approximately 759 school units, where state civil servants, composed of teachers, administrative technicians and administrative support, face work difficulties caused by interpersonal and ethical conflicts. The Ethics Committee (COE) the State Secretariat of Education (Seduc/ MT) aims to propagate the ethical norm and reduce the levels of unethical conduct existing in school units, which cause discomfort in interpersonal relationships and result in psychological suffering and damage to the lives of public servants, in addition to impairing the performance of its functions. The objective of the study was to carry out a survey on the practice of this Commission through bibliographic and documentary research, with the contribution of COE’s documentary collections for the years 2017, 2018 and 2019. The results revealed that the Commission’s practice fulfils the educational, advisory, guidance, mediating and investigative functions with a view to avoiding and/or resolving the ethical conflicts existing in schoolsgrossenses, with reductions of unethical complaints and ethical expedients that are instructed by the members of the Commission. Among the five functions performed, the COE Seduc/ MT prioritizes the educational function, because it recognizes the importance of ethical education to resolve ethical conflicts to propagate the ethical rule and its daily exercise through the servers of Education, materialized, primarily, by educational lectures, which are held together with its servers. Thus, the COE Seduc/ MT exercises its competence in order to promote the knowledge of ethical regulation and the common good, prioritizing the educational function that enables servers to share experiences, clarify doubts about the performance of the activities developed by COE and know the principles and values, as well as rights and duties as a public servant of Seduc/ MT, in addition to raising awareness about the importance of their actions to be backed by ethical behaviors. |
